"Laurie worked with my oldest son for over a year when we first started our therapy journey. As a young mother with a delayed/special needs child, this new journey was scary but Laurie quickly welcomed us and made us comfortable, always accommodating however she could. Being involved and educated on my son's services was also a huge concern of mine-- Laurie eased my mind and welcomed me to join therapy until my son became familiar. She always explained every process in detail and communicated ways for us to practice at home and incorporate services into our day to day lives. She is phenomenal!!"

"My husband and I moved to Georgia three years ago. As he had Parkinson's disease, one of the first things we needed to do was find a number of therapists to support him as his PD progressed. We were very lucky to find Laurie Vanderwiele who agreed to work as his Speech and Language therapist. As PD progresses, speech often becomes mumbled making it hard to understand so improved communication skills were very important to us. Laurie was familiar with the issues involved and very knowledgeable about the techniques needed. Every weekly therapy session was designed to address my husband's specific issues; with new skills building upon mastered skills. We were given additional exercises to work on at home. Laurie was so observant; watching every thing without appearing to and then pointing out problem areas and explaining why these needed to be corrected. Laurie was a true gift! She was extremely knowledgeable but as important, if not more so, she was so kind and so caring and she treated my husband as an adult using manageable strategies, not as a child using repeated nonsense rhymes (as he was accustomed to and hated!). We were indeed blessed to have Laurie as a valued member of our Parkinson's Support Team. I could not recommend her more highly as an adult Speech and Language therapist."

"We loved working with Laurie! She is professional and kind, and always took the time to answer my questions and explain the therapy she was giving to our son. After spending time with him she was also able to finally give us a diagnosis so we knew exactly what was going on, and he began making progress while working with her. I can’t recommend her enough!"

"Laurie was AMAZING with my Grady! She made him feel comfortable, enjoying each session while still pushing him to work hard. She took time each day to communicate his goals and progress with me, and was always available for any questions or concerns I might have had. We loved our time with Mrs. Laurie."
